The

from Deep Run Valley, Doylestown, Harleysville, Lenape Valley, Nor Gwyn, Montgomery,
North Penn, Souderton, and Towamencin among others. For more information on VIGS
please check out their website at www.vigs.net.
Deep Run Sunday Select teams are formed after tryouts in September and October.
The Deep Run Sunday Select teams are formed from the Deep Run intramural players
who desire to play at more competitive level then the intramural program can provide,
as well as a desire to play additional games. You may sign up on line at drvsa.org
starting in late July each year. It is a requirement of the VIGS rules that members
of a Sunday Select team must also play on a Deep Run intramural softball team
thru the entire season. Deep Run will sponsor a U-10 and two U-12 teams for the
2006 season. Deep Run will sponsor a 10U and two 12U teams for the 2007 season.
The Select teams play a 10 game Sunday afternoon schedule and two tournaments
during the season.

LADY
LIGHTNING 10U SELECT TAKES HOME SECOND PLACE TROPHIES! - The Lady Lightning
10U Select team played in their first tournament at North Penn on May 18th, 19th,
and 20th, and made it to the championship. Deep Run fell to a strong North Penn
squad, 14-11. Alyssa Hughes had a three run double and Brady Tillotson had and
RBI single to get Deep Run off to a 4-0 lead. Powerful hitting pushed North Penn
to a 14-6 lead. In the sixth inning, the Lady Lightning got to within 14-11, and
had the tying run at the plate before coming up just short. Lisa Bahmueler had
three hits for Deep Run and Lauren Weidler kept us in the game with a strong pitching
effort in relief.
The tournament was highlighted by multiple hit games from
Lisa Bahmueler, Alyssa Hughes, Niki Sarnese, and Lauren Weidler, as well as clutch
hits and runs scored by Samantha Thomson, Brady Tillotson, Morgan Labs, Brianna
Gery, Kelly Hennigan, and Kara Wireman. Lisa Bahmueler made numerous outstanding
defensive stops, while Niki Clements, Angie Napolitano, and Sarah Murgia contributed
key defensive plays. Morgan Labs and Niki Clements were tireless behind the plate,
while Lauren Weidler and Brianna Gery put forth several gutsy pitching performances. This was the first time in 4 or more years that a Deep
Run Select team played in the final round of the Select Tournament!
