Deep
Run Lacrosse is open to boys in grades 1 through 8. The spring season starts in
February and runs through June. Boys in 1st and 2nd grade play an intramural format
with a few outside competitions during the season and start in March. Grades 3
through 8 participate in the South East Pennsylvania Youth Lacrosse Association,
SEPYLA. 3/4th and 5/6th
league
games are on Sundays, while 7/8th grade league games are on Saturdays. The philosophy
of Deep Run Lacrosse is to have fun, build strong fundamentals, and develop a
love and respect for the game that will last a lifetime.
The
Start of the Spring 2010 Season is Fast Approaching
- We are excited about the upcoming season and look forward
to another successful year. We have made a few changes
that will improve the program and put the emphasis on
the kids it's their game, not ours! As the
new lacrosse commissioner, I would like to welcome back
our existing lacrosse families and welcome new players
and parents to our club. If you ever have any questions
or comments about our program, please do not hesitate
to contact me at drlax@comcast.net.
Yours in lacrosse ~ Chris Fechter.
Walk-in
Registration - Last chance to register January 30,
9am to 12 pm at the clubhouse.
Indoor
Lacrosse Session - The Indoor season will start on
Sunday January 17th, 2010 and run through early March.
We will be securing practice time at BucksMont to prepare
for the indoor and outdoor seasons. We currently have
7/8th, 5/6th and are hoping for a 3/4th garde entry into
the indoor league.
Deep
Run Lacrosse Code of Conduct-
As with many other sports at Deep Run, we have added a
Code of Conduct that all coaches,
players,
and parents
MUST read and sign prior to participation in the 2010
season. You should download these, print them, sign them,
and get them to your head coach as soon as possible. We
have adopted this approach to help achieve the most effective,
positive environment possible for the boys to develop
and grow in the sport.
Lacrosse
Rules - SEPYLA rules have been posted. Look for
updated rules to be posted soon.

and Travel pages to
find out what equipment is required and what equipment
is provided by Deep Run each program.
Fields

Central Middle School.
Travel
Program for 3rd thru 8th grades: > Teams will participate in SEPYLA
> 7th and 8th grade will compete in A2 and A3
divisions
> 5th and 6th grade will compete in B2 and B3
divisions
> 3rd and 4th grade will compete in C division
> Teams will be limited to 18 - 23 players, depending
on our registrations
> Based on coaches discretion, players may have
the opportunity to play up in some games, but will
be rostered on their appropriate grade group
> 5th - 8th grade players will register directly
through their head coach! You will be notified
when this will take place. 1st - 4th grade players
can register at either of the two walk-in registrations
at the clubhouse or directly with the coaches of
their teams.
> Practices for 5th - 8th grade will begin in
February for the spring season
> For the 5th - 8th grade divisions, practice
and game attendance is mandatory! If players
repeatedly miss practices or games, playing time
will be addressed. We expect that lacrosse should
be your first sport priority in the spring.
> For grades 3 - 4, we strongly recommend attending
all practices and games and not competing with alternate
sports. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Intramural
Program for 1st thru 2nd Grades > This program will focus on learning
the basic fundamentals of lacrosse - throwing, catching,
scooping, shooting. It will be a fun, energetic
environment so that our "Little Thunders"
start their lacrosse careers with a strong foundation.
A few games with other local clubs will be included,
but winning and losing will not be emphasized!
