Deep Run Travel Basketball brought home two Suburban
League championships again this year. Joe Gebler, Laura Lyons and
Mark Zickler led the 12B girls' team to a 12-3 record including
three playoff victories to win the championship. Team members include
Eileen Applegate, Emily Cassel, Molly Gebler, Lindsey Lyons, Nicole
Mehlman, Nina Rakowsky, Ali Ventresca, Justine Zawatski, and Shannon
Zickler.
Dave Simononis and Jake Dominic led the 11B girls'
team to an undefeated season at 15-0 to win the championship. Team
members include Tara Barr, Lauren Brady, Elizabeth Colyar, Julia
Colyar, Jordan Dominic, Samantha Eddy, Bridgette Hess, Erica Hicks,
Emily Maher, Jen Moyer, Natasha Prentice, Kirsten Robinson, Samantha
Simononis, and Amber Vail.
Deep Run Girls' Travel Basketball was also represented
at the 10B level (coached by Chris Villella), 12B (Dave Dolly),
and 13/14B (Eric Krimmel).
The Deep Run Boys' Travel Basketball included three
teams qualifying for the playoffs including 14B (coached by Scott
Gunsel, Dave Huff and Mike Hanks), 11B (Don Cameron) and 9B (Jim
Groff, Mike Ford). Deep Run boys also competed in the 10A (Mike
Guldin, Keith Henry), 10B (Dave Trumbower), 12B (Bob Hilinski) and
13A (Dave Simononis) divisions.
